Also known as silver-loaded zirconium phosphate, an efficient, safe and broad-spectrum inorganic antibacterial material with a typical silver content of 2%–6%, adjustable in particle size, pH and silver loading. Silver ions inhibit microorganisms strongly by disrupting cell membranes and interfering with enzyme activity and DNA replication, and are released slowly for long-lasting antibacterial action. It is used in antibacterial dressings, catheter coatings, dental materials, plastics, ceramics and textiles, water-treatment filter media and anti-corrosion coatings.
