Lithium-loaded zirconium phosphate (chemical formula Li₃O₄P) is a NASICON-type solid electrolyte material with three-dimensional ion-conduction channels ideal for lithium-ion migration, high ionic conductivity (about 10⁻⁴ S/cm at room temperature), a wide electrochemical window and good chemical and thermal stability. It is mainly used in the solid electrolyte layer of all-solid-state lithium-ion batteries (100% pure phase or 10%–30% composite), cathode surface coating (1–5 wt%), anode composites (10–30 wt%) and composite polymer electrolytes (20%–50 wt%), and can also be used in electrochemical gas sensors, nuclear-waste immobilisation and catalyst carriers.
